On Thursday working with plaster made us all happy – quite all, as the housekeeping people unfortunately must have experienced quite some shock, discovering the state of the fab-lab after this part of our workshop. But we also did our best in order to clean up…:
Diogo, Mario and me!
And a happily plastered student…:
On Wednesday the students worked on a merger of their drawings, creating ‚future voids‘ with solids of styrofoam in a very focused working manner, placing them into selfmade wooden formwork:
Shopping material for our students in great places:
Great impressions on the road:
And an incredible lecture by Ricardo de Ostos, UCL The Bartlett School of Architecture, London/ Naja & deOstos, who’ll join us at the Halle A / OTH Regensburg next year – promised!
… more to come :)
Tuesday we started the workshop with sixty students from 2nd period of the architecture course AUL of PUC Minas.
Drawing, visiting, painting: great thing without any idea about what comes next:
Prof. Diogo Carvalho, solid & void:
… the Portuguese titel of my lecture, Mon 9-17 at 19h, central auditorium at the PUC Minas, campus Coração Eucaristico in Belo Horizonte.
It worked, even though I had decided to speak in Portuguese… Many interesting questions followed my lecture which centered on the relations between sculpture and architecture, focussing on some well known examples like Gordon Matta-Clark, Rachel Whiteread and architecture principe (Claude Parent/Paul Virilio).
I also presented our institution, the OTH Regensburg as well as our faculty to the students present, their feedback was just great!
… und Niemeyer, 2010:
Dazu Art Nouveau, Anfang 20. Jhd.:und Städtebau, ebenfalls Anfang des 20. Jhd., unfassbarer Ort für dieses Graffitti;Und ein wenig Lampenfieber, Respekt vor dem Vortrag heute Abend.
Travelling to Belo Horizonte in Brazil, to hold a lecture on Erasing boundaries and a workshop on House without body.
at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg:: Art may be so much fun for young people….
